THE END

How Do We Humanise (Big) Data?

Perhaps the idea of humanising data may seem counterintuitive. But in thinking about, and indeed producing, educational futures, we should be wary of how this datafication and quantification of the educational experience reconfigures our understanding of and approach to learners and learning—particularly if it threatens to reproduce  an outdated determinism which runs counter to contemporary thinking about how learners actually learn.

Don't let the human learner be swamped by the sheer volume, variety and velocity of big data. Big data, are, after all, provided by humans. And humans are anything but simple data points.
